I attended a wedding reception in Hudson Falls, New York, February 23, 2024. I had heard about the BQ from the brother of the bride and I really enjoy good barbecue so when it was time to eat we took our plates. I was amazed at the food spread some of the most delicious coleslaw Baked beans with his own twist, macaroni and cheese spiraled with an extra ingredient of potato chips who would've thought and I did realize that when I ate some of the mac & cheese, all of a sudden, I felt like there was a loaded potato taste in my mouth. We had the choice of everything of the meat beginning with pulled chicken , gorgeous looking spareribs and mouthwatering the most tender, flavorful brisket, homemade cornbread and rolls for those who enjoyed sandwiches as well as sauces . I wanted some of everything and I knew it would be too much, but I resigned in my head that Dwight has to come up with some aluminum foil and did he deliver. I was trying not to feel shameless that I wrap my food up from a reception, but I have never tasted barbecue. That was this good we have traveled across the United States, enjoying good barbecue from southern states, mid states, and upstate New York, but I would choose Big D's. I wish he lived locally where I reside because he would be my go to guy. Dwight and his staff were pleasant, generous, and just delightful as well as fun talking with!! His cooking will be in my memory bank for a long, long time!!! My husband was so shocked that I wanted to take my leftovers home but I really wanted to enjoy my leftovers later on and don't regret it one bit! Dwight and his team gave us an unforgettable experience! From first meeting Dwight to shaking his hand day of, he delivered every step of the way. It's clear this is not a "job" for Dwight and his crew. His unwavering devotion to his trade don't go unnoticed. He's created an exceptional menu and superceeded our expectations. We came hungry and left with plenty of delicious left overs. (Make sure to bring coolers and portioning bags!) Hand crafted sauces, homemade EVERYTHING! We cant speak highly enough! Our venue wouldnt allow open flame anywhere near or in the "barn" but Dwight didn't hesitate to provide a solution that gave us what we expected (quality wise) and catered to our other vendor as well. All around top notch experience. We would use Dwight again and would recommend highly to anyone! God bless!

Dwight and his business deserves a 5+ STAR REVIEW from my family.

SO it is very exciting when you are told that you will become 1st time grandparents. This news definitely called for a PARTY! Then the Mom to be gives you 3 specific requests for her "baby shower". 1) PARTY not themed baby shower at a beautiful location 2)Guys included 3)INCREDIBLE food is MANDATORY, the pressure WAS on! The first 2 requests were easy but the 3rd was difficult. Our family is known for throwing large parties where we do all the work but in this case I was told that it HAD TO be catered.
I searched around the Lake George area and found several possibilities and made several calls and appointments. When I first spoke to Dwight, I gave him the date that we needed to have the party but unfortunately he was booked. We had a great conversation never the less and I was very disappointed that he could not accommodate us. BUT 2 days later, he called me back and said he would find a way to make it happen. There was the 1st reason why you want to work with Big D's! THE first appointment I had scheduled was with owner Dwight at Big D's Bar-B-Cue in Hudson Falls at his home. Upon my arrival, I met Dwight who was incredibly passionate and serious about his business. He offered samples of his product and sauces. At first bite, I thought this is TOP QUALITY food. He explained process of making his food, the setup and the timing of the serving and all the options I had for creating an incredible event. He ended his presentation with a delicious Pot de Creme dessert offered in several flavors that he creates himself. I knew at that moment, Big D's BBQ was going to be the best choice for this party. I chose the exact menu of what we wanted and put a 50% deposit down. I felt the price was fair, based on the rising meat prices and knowing Dwight handled all the setup and breakdown, which meant that I could enjoy the party and not worry constantly about feeding this large group. I left making several calls to cancel the other appointments.

Dwight made another appointment with me to look at the property, which was our camp on Lake George and to discuss the location logistics for his smoker, buffet and table set up. He requires a tent over his food and gave me the name of Nicks Tents. They were also a great company to work with. They came 2 days before the event & set up leaving enough tables and chairs to accommodate the guests.
Dwight rolled in with his smoker the morning of the party on time and with additional staff to set up. They were all so professional and personable and TOTALLY took the stress out of the event while my family attended to all the other things that need to be done for this "baby shower" party. All serving tables were draped in black table cloths and food was presented in silver catering chafing dishes. All plates, utensils and napkins (wet & dry) & toothpicks were provided by Big D's. They think of everything!!

Each dish was labeled and kept warm to code to prevent problems. The menu featured Brisket, pulled pork & Chicken, coleslaw, bake beans & potato salad, mac and cheese with 4 cheese blend and an incredible jalapano cornbread. There was an assortment of his personal recipe BBQ Sauces, which the guests went crazy over and were available for purchase after the party. I had so many compliments on the quality of the food and noticed many guests going back for 2nds and 3rds. One of my major concerns was that there would be adequate amounts of food.
Dwight calculated proficiently and there was a good amount of leftovers, which my family continued to enjoy for several days later..
We had discussed the timing of the food to be presented and he again delivered with precision and gusto! His staff was so friendly and accommodating to all the guests.
They cleaned up quietly and efficiently. Leaving all the leftovers packaged and time stamped for us.
The guests continued to rave about the food and staff and asked where I found them. My family was incredible appreciative of finding this high quality caterer!!!
I am hoping for another exciting family event one day and will DEFINITELY use Big D's Bar-be-que services again.

Dwight has created a business with his amazing mobile smoker that will make any party a huge success. I strongly recommend that you consider him for large or even small events where you don't ever have to stress about the food! He was so much fun to work and I am grateful for finding Big D's...

We had Dwight and the crew back for the 3rd time for a grad party. Always great food, great service and friendly staff. 5 stars every time. The food is always perfect and these guys go above and beyond every time. Very affordable and they always are accommodating to your specific needs. Keep up the good work guys and can't wait to use you again!

Dwight did an amazing job not only with the food but the set up was perfect!! His crew made sure to make it a point to mingle and ask everyone how their food tasted. No complaints from anyone!! We even enjoyed the leftovers the next day!! Great guy to work with, would recommend to anyone looking for good down home BBQ!!!

Dwight and his family went above and beyond to make my son's graduation party a huge success. The food was incredible . Everyone raved that everything on the menu was outstanding. Dwight's team is extremely professional from their attire to the cloth table cloths. Due to COVID we had to make some adjustments. He took every precautionary measure to ensure everyone's safety. Everything went smoothly and everyone was able to relax and enjoy the day. I would highly recommend Big D's BBQ for any special event. Our Celebration of Life for my brother was a huge success because of the Big D's Bar-b-cue. They were so professional....on time....and immaculate in their presentation. The food was a 10....the BEST barbecue you will ever have....can't wait to use them again !!!!!!!

So glad we catered with Big D’s!! More than enough delicious food, professional presentation, everything we needed and more!! Wish I had another event coming up just to have them come back!
